The freeze-dried flowers are packed airtight. When opening the packaging, the shelf life can be reduced, because the flowers are then exposed to air and moisture. It is important to close the container of flowers as soon as possible after opening and store it in a dark place (pantry will do).
If stored properly, freeze-dried edible flowers can remain viable for several months to a year after opening, but color and flavor may diminish somewhat over time.
